Jane McKeating Research Group - Amal Singh

Amal

I am a currently a medical student who is doing an intercalated BMedSci degree between my third and fourth years of my medical course. I will be working for approximately 7 months with the HCV Research Group. My particular focus of study will be looking at the role of chemokines in the pathogenesis of Hepatitis C virus, especially looking at their potential role in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) which can develop as a consequence of chronic HCV infection.

When I’m outside the lab I enjoy playing the guitar and have been playing squash once or twice a week for the past few years. I’m also a big fan of British Comedy shows such as The Office and Peep Show and am recently trying to make an effort to see more comedy gigs!
